This is not a how-to post on aftermarket SMIC installation, rather, a case study on what a meat popsicle can do with a weekend, some basic tools, and a little money. Not much in the way of performance gains from these parts, but it has definitely solidified my addiction to DIY maintenance. I was sweating, cursing, and smiling all at the same time. And when I was done, I was already looking forward to next winter's plenum pull. On to the pics... Here's the Z just prior to surgery
This part took the longest because I had never taken off the fascia before
Here are the parts being installed today and the abbreviated copies of the online bible
Won't be needing this anymore, thanks robo
After the carbon canister and stock overflow tank are gone, there's quite a bit of room behind the driver's side intercooler now
Passenger side intercooler and duct installed
Driver's side intercooler and duct installed
 Here's a $134 problem I discovered while I was down there
I used the oh so elegant zip-tie method to attach the Summit overflow tank. Not quite sure why they have a hole drilled in one end with barbed fittings on both sides. Whatever, I pulled both hose attachments off and swapped sides so the drilled hole was on top and the 90* bend was on the bottom
Everything installed and ready for the fascia install
I bolted the fascia on the next morning after the back ache had subsided and a successful trip to the auto parts store for turn signal GM adapters

Before: Folks, there's nothing to be seen here, move along
After: Now that's more like it
A little bit of soap and water and you can hardly tell I closed the garage door for the night with the car still up on jack stands and the hood in the upright position putting it directly in the path of the garage door arm which is fortunately painted black and not made of bare metal. Important lesson learned...
For me, it wasn't about saving money on the the labor, or because I knew how to do it already. I just wanted to complete a project like this for my own gratification. Makes me feel like a better Z owner!. Maybe I'll start changing my own oil...
